Salt Massage Recipes.
Basic Salt Scrub Exfoliant.
1 cup coarse sea salt or Himalayan pink salt (for exfoliation)
½ cup carrier oil (such as coconut oil, olive oil, sweet almond oil, or jojoba oil)
10-15 drops of essential oil, e.g., lavender, peppermint, or tea tree, for added benefits and fragrance (optional)
1 tsp honey or avocado oil for extra moisture and antibacterial properties (optional)
1 tsp lemon juice (for brightening, but avoid if you have sensitive skin)
Directions: Mix the salt and carrier oil in a bowl until well combined.
Add essential oils, honey, or lemon juice if desired.
Stir thoroughly and transfer to an airtight container (like a glass jar). After showering while the skin is damp, gently massage the scrub onto your skin in circular motions, focusing on rough areas (elbows, knees, feet).
Rinse off with warm water. Use 1-2 times per week for best results.
Variations on Basic Salt Scrub Exfoliant:
Detoxifying Scrub: Add 1 tsp bentonite clay and five drops of eucalyptus oil.
Energizing Citrus Scrub: Use grapeseed oil and add orange + lemon essential oils.
Soothing Oatmeal Scrub: Mix ½ cup salt with ½ cup ground oats for sensitive skin.
Note: Avoid using on broken skin or right after shaving, as salt can sting. Always patch-test first if you have sensitive skin.
For Dry Skin
Hydrating Salt Scrub- Finer salt prevents irritation, while oils and honey lock in moisture.
1 cup fine sea salt (less abrasive)
½ cup coconut oil or avocado oil (deeply moisturising)
1 tbsp honey or avocado oil
5 drops chamomile essential oil (soothing)
For Oily/Acne-Prone Skin-Purifying Salt Scrub- Clay and tea tree combat breakouts, jojoba mimics skin's natural oils.
1 cup Himalayan pink salt (mineral-rich)
½ cup jojoba oil (balances sebum)
1 tsp bentonite clay (detoxifies)
5 drops tea tree oil (antibacterial)
1 tsp aloe vera gel (calming)
For Sensitive Skin-Gentle Oatmeal-Salt Scrub- Oats reduce redness, and Epsom salt is less abrasive.
½ cup Epsom salt (softer exfoliation)½ cup ground oats (anti-inflammatory)
¼ cup sweet almond oil (light and soothing)
1 tsp Aloe vera gel (healing)
2 drops rose essential oil (anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and pH-balancing properties. )
Directions: Mix and massage into dry and rough areas of your body.
For Rough Skin (Elbows/feet), use an ultra-exfoliating scrub and a coarse salt + sugar combo to tackle thick, calloused skin.

1 tbsp brown sugar (extra buffing)
5 drops peppermint oil (invigorating)
Directions: Mix and rub on feet, legs, arms.
For Brightening/Dull Skin-Citrus Glow Scrub- Patch-test first! Citrus can be photosensitising—avoid sun exposure after use.

5 drops of orange essential oil

Anti-Cellulite Salt Scrub -Stimulates circulation & smooths dimpling.
1 cup coarse sea salt or coffee grounds (caffeine tightens skin)
½ cup coconut oil or grapeseed oil
2 tbsp ground coffee (exfoliates + boosts blood flow)
5 drops grapefruit essential oil (lymphatic drainage)
5 drops cypress essential oil (reduces fluid retention)
How to Use: Massage in firm, upward motions on thighs/buttocks 2–3x weekly.
Deep Detox Salt Scrub- Draws out impurities & reduces puffiness1 cup Dead Sea salt (high in magnesium).
½ cup bentonite clay (binds to toxins)
¼ cup apple cider vinegar (pH-balancing)
3 tbsp aloe vera gel (soothes)
5 drops eucalyptus oil (invigorating)
Note: Mix with a wooden spoon (metal deactivates clay). Apply post-sauna for extra detox.

10 drops of lavender essential oil
2 drops ylang-ylang oil (stress relief)
Directions: Mix and massage into the skin, particularly wrists, hands, legs and feet.
Post-Workout Recovery Scrub- Eases sore muscles & inflammation.
1 cup Epsom salt (reduces lactic acid buildup)
½ cup argan oil or sesame oil
1 tsp ginger powder (warming)
5 drops peppermint oil (cooling)
5 drops frankincense oil (anti-inflammatory)
Directions: Massage onto legs/back after exercise.
Summer Glow Salt Scrub-Prep skin for tanning (non-oily!)
1 cup fine Himalayan salt
½ cup jojoba oil (lightweight, won't clog pores)
1 tbsp pomegranate seed powder (antioxidant boost)
5 drops carrot seed oil (natural SPF booster)
