“No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it’s not the same river and he’s not the same man.”

Heraclitus also spelled Heracleitus a Greek philosopher-born c. 540 bce, Ephesus, Anatolia [now Selçuk, Turkey]—died c. 480- is considered the most important pre-Socratic Greek philosopher, yet little is known of his life and the one book he apparently wrote is lost! Heraclitus is remembered for his cosmology, in which fire forms the basic material principle of an orderly universe.
