With leaden heart I knew the reason Why this place was used so seldom; Called The Giant Halls of Thunder, Rightly named The Halls of Thunder Purple columns freaked with bright- Incandescent as a stormy night, Arrowheads of darting diamonds- Sharp and blinding, darting diamonds, Shooting through the halls of wonder, Piercing through and glancing under, Seeking, searching, flashing, curious, Maddened demons, crazed and furious; Green saliva slowly boiling, Spat from sluggish serpents coiling, Awful eyes threw toxic vengeance, Malicious, odious, sneering gladness; All meeting with a nauseous river, Slithering downward, red as liver. Echoed sounds of souls in torment, Shrieking, wailing souls in torment, Mixed with hollow, unseen laughter Hanging from each beam and rafter; Gaping mouths, their tongues vibrating, Dripping tongues in ambush waiting; Then sights and sounds deliberately Merged as one huge energy, Fast as light, at some command- Compelled by cosmic reprimand, Flew towards the tongues vibrating, Clicking tongues in ambush waiting, Surrendered with humiliation, Let them suck them to oblivion; Only left these words in fire, "Your name is Wind and your desire Is ceaseless roam forever, forever, Seeking friendship ever and ever". | ![]() Instant blindness by that fire
Saw my name and my desire
Blazing through the hemispheres
Trailing iridescent tears;
Like a comet onward shooting,
Every private dream polluting;
Metal chains grasped every gate,
A smoking brand staining fate;
But my mother soft and gentle,
And my father like an eagle,
Constant in their faith brought forth
Another child-this your Earth.
And so to guard her as a flower
Using my inherent power;
Each tiny, puny weed I lavished,
Conferred it honour, so embellished;
Resolute in hope midst pain,
Nothing in this world distain.
| The clothes I wore of idle cloud Set me thinking thoughts profound, Abstracted vapour changing face Could interweave and interlace; So breathed I, till breath extended, Diffused until my form had ended; Enveloped closely Earth my kin With outward bliss, myself within; Embracing every glen and valley, Kissing narrow bends and gullies, Overlaid volcanic tops, Withdrawn and lonely mountain tops, Not neglecting wondrous water- Balsam to the Earth my sister; Taught each drop to soar above As a swallow to his love, In salutation to his queen, Falls to Earth, her beauty seen. Continued from forgotten years, Sees thriving moss with given tears, Atlantean rosemary spreading Earth- Preferring land near sea-her girth; Tall, white lilies set in sand- Living proof of fertile land; Memories changing as they wander, Gathering dreams as they meander; As mistletoe to Old Ones sacred Spreads o'er Earth and lovers naked, As torrid days in high midsummer Witnessed Druids unknown number, Hallowed trees to just these few Now costume Earth, their duties new; As the isolated Lin of Dee Sends tumultuous water to the sea, So fretted I until I heard The singing of my paper bird. |
